报告人简介：高维东，天津大学应用数学中心教授、博士生导师。1994年于四川大学获得博士学位，曾于大连理工大学及奥地利Graz大学从事博士后研究工作。高维东教授的主要研究领域为组合数论和组合数学中的代数方法。他建立了两个著名组合课题Erdos-Ginburg-Ziv定理与Davenport常数之间的基本联系，从而将两者统一起来。这一结论被同行在公开发表的论文和评论中称为基础性结果（a fundamental result）和漂亮（beautiful）的结果，并指出其已众所周知（well known）。已发表论文100多篇, 目前已经完成多项国家自然科学基金面上项目。
报告摘要：Group algebras is a powerful tool in the study of some problems in additive combinatorics. We will present some results on zero-sum and additive bases of finite abelian groups obtained by using group algebras and some open problems in this direction.
